Information Ember handles

When you select audiobook folders or files using Android’s system picker, Ember reads those chosen locations so it can organize and play your audio. It stores library details, progress, bookmarks, notes, tags, listening history, and preferences in app-local storage.

What Ember does not collect

• No Nestor Studios or Ember account.
• No upload of your audiobook files.
• No Firebase Analytics, Crashlytics, advertising ID, or behavioral tracking in the current release.
• No access to location, contacts, microphone, camera, or broad device storage.

Android and Google Play services

Ember may communicate with Google Play for an optional one-time Premium purchase and restore. Android may include eligible app data in system backup or device transfer according to your device and Google account settings. Audiobook files and folder permissions are not included in Ember’s backup rules.

Storage and deletion

Your audio remains in the location you selected. Ember stores its database and preferences within the app’s private storage. Uninstalling Ember normally removes that app-local data. Manual backup files are created only when you choose to export one.

Permissions

Ember uses Android media-playback service permissions for reliable background listening, notification permission for playback and optional alerts, and Google Play Billing/network access for Premium operations. Folder access is granted through Android’s system picker.
